This is the best chicken and rib bbq around.
The Mexican burritos are huge. Love the tacos.
The Cole slaw is wonderful and I typically don't
eat cole slaw.  The rice and beans delicious. We drive from Cotati to Petaluma at least 1-2 a month for this incredibly delicious meal. Be patient as parking is scarce but use street parking- it's worth it.
They are closed mon and tues so plan accordingly.

Came back to what a chicken... this time feeling the need for a burrito, yuuuuum!  So happy with that choice, got the grilled chicken burrito, was a large burrito with super delicious taste... was actually craving it the next day and have plans to return shortly.

The place was hopping, with indoor and outdoor seating... this time around the tables were being kept clean... their chips are still the store bought variety... prob be a 5 star with homemade chips...

If there was a What A Chicken in Marin I would eat there all the time. We had dinner here last night  after doing some shopping in town. Luckily there was no line when we arrived. I decided to try their burrito and I'm so glad I did. It was one of the best chicken burritos I have had. The seasoning of their grilled chicken is full of flavor and there were big pieces in every bite. I was surprised to read some reviews that mentioned how dry the chicken was. The burritos includes: your choice of meat, your choice of rice (Spanish or white), beans (it normally comes with refried beans but you can also get black beans), sour cream, guacamole, pico de Gallo, and cheese. I opted out of the cheese though. All of this for only $10! That is unheard of in Marin and SF. My boyfriend ordered the 4 pieces of meat (2 ribs, 2 pieces of chicken) and 2 small sides (cole slaw and rice). He loved it!

They offer very generous portions. My burrito was the size of a football and my boyfriend's plate was more than enough for him (usually it's the opposite when we go out to eat). Their salsa bar is pretty big with lots to choose from. We tried four salsas and a pineapple and onion salsa which packed some heat. They toast their chips in the oven, super tasty. We will be back!

Great bbq ribs & chicken, great service, fast and you get your money's worth. I think I had 4 meals out of one plate. Love that I can walk here. Simple menu but they do it well.

A long overdue review was needed for What a Chicken. I have been back numerous times and have yet to be disappointed.

When it first opened last year, it was true, prices lower and quantity provided was more, but quality has yet to make a downfall. It is a bummer that the city ordered What a Chicken to move their grill inside as it was their staple when driving or walking by (And it smelled so wonderful might I add!). With that said, basics out of the way. To address the elephant in the room, parking. Parking can be tough, but there is ample street parking nearby with a short walk. As for pricing, yes they have gone up, but again the quality has yet to change. Everything is still very affordable compared to many other restaurants nearby. Wait times even when busy are not too bad, so no complaints on that end.

My go to is still the two meat platter and sides, which is absolutely delish. Love their BBQ'd chicken and craving it a tad just writing this right now honestly. Lets not forget to mention the endless chips and salsa, but in all honesty, skip the chips and get the salsa for topping your dish(es) that you ordered.

While there may be some other good Mexican restaurants nearby, What a Chicken does a great job giving them a run for their money.
